Israeli Bombings Leave Beirut Residential Area in Rubble

The number of children killed daily by Israeli bombs this week is double the number of children killed during the 2006 war.
On Friday, Israeli planes launched a series of airstrikes against the southern suburbs of Beirut in Lebanon.
Loud explosions echoed throughout the capital city and adjacent towns.

Huge plumes of smoke could be seen from great distances, something that had not happened with any of the six bombings carried out by the Zionist army since October 2023.
The bombings targeted Dahye, a southern suburb of the city. Similar to previous occasions, Israel justified its warlike actions by claiming that there was an important stronghold of the Hellena political and armed movement.
So far, the Lebanese government has received donations and supplies from China, Britain, and Syria, as the country is witnessing deteriorating humanitarian conditions amid the intense Israeli bombings.
“At this moment, I tell the southerners from the seven governorates that 10,000 families will receive US$100 dollars from a Chinese donation,” Social Affairs Minister Hector Hajjar said, noting that medical aid from China is also underway.
“We have been supporting Lebanon for a long time, and we are keen to support it at this time particularly,” said Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon Qian Minjian, who voiced his country’s opposition to “any action that violates Lebanon’s sovereignty and its security,” and condemned indiscriminate attacks against civilians.
The average number of children killed per day in Lebanon this week is more than double the number of children killed per day during the 2006 war. “Now, 50 children were killed in two days, on Monday and Tuesday of this week, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health. The ministry also expects that more children remain buried under the rubble of destroyed buildings across the country,” the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) stated.
As of Thursday, Israeli bombings have left at least 700 people killed and over 1,800 injured in Lebanon, forcing 120,000 people to leave their houses in southern villages and towns to safer shelters.
